Inte'l Tour de Taiwan Ultra-Marathon 2013

いよいよ先週末3月30日(土)から4月12日(金)まで14日間に渡る”台湾一周ウルトラマラソン”のステージレースがスタートしました。

台湾は・・・・日本国の真の友達です。
ご存知の通り、東日本大震災では台湾からの200億円を超える義捐金が集まりました。
台湾の親日的支援活動により、大きな驚嘆と感謝をもって日本国民に受け取られました。

すでに、大会も5日目となり選手の疲労もピークを迎えたのではないでしょうか？
まだ残り9日間もあることから、有力選手でいかなるトラブルを発生してレースに影響
するものと予想されます。

これまでの台湾の天気ですが、雨天続きで決して選手に恵まれた条件ではありません。
水ぶくれなどの足指のトラブルが選手の走りにかなりストレスを与えることでしょう。

私も是非出場する予定でいましたが、諸事情により不本意ながら見合わせるしかありませんでした。ですから、このレースに大きなき期待と関心をもって日々のレース展開を楽しんでいますあ。

さて、出場選手の中ではやはり日本人選手に注目です。

ITTU was launched after his great challenge of Tour of Taiwan for giving gratitude to people in Taiwan. Mr. Ryoichi Sekiya has been my running hero since when I started ultra-running 10 years ago, and I think that this race is indeed what I should try as a runner following and going beyond him. With no fund, no vacation, and no great skill, the only reason I signed up was due to my determination, making me participate under so much uncompromising conditions.
